A Sussex man has been told that he faces no further action after he was arrested after a stunt at Windsor Castle during the state visit by US President Donald Trump.
The unnamed 60-year-old, from East Sussex, was one of four men who were arrested after the projection of a nine-minute film linking President Trump to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Thames Valley Police said: “The investigation into four men arrested in connection with an unauthorised projection on to Windsor Castle has concluded and no further action will be taken against them.
“The arrests took place on Tuesday 16 September and involved a 60-year-old man, from East Sussex, a 36-year-old man, from London, a 37-year-old man, from Kent, and a 50-year-old man, from London.
“The individuals were arrested on suspicion of offences including malicious communications and public nuisance.”
The film was made by the campaign group Led By Donkeys and showed links between Mr Trump and Epstein.
It was projected from a hotel room on to the castle as an act of peaceful protest, the group said last month.
Led By Donkeys said: “It’s good the police now accept it’s not illegal to project a film about Donald Trump’s close relationship with America’s most notorious child sex trafficker on to a wall.
“The fact they didn’t come to that obvious conclusion on the night makes it look suspiciously like political policing.
“We’re happy police resources can now be redirected to investigating Prince Andrew.”
The prince was also part of Epstein’s circle and has been the subject of significant news coverage since the publication this week of a posthumous book by Virginia Giuffre.
She has made a number of claims about Prince Andrew which he has denied – but he reached a £12 million out of court settlement with her, despite not admitting liability.
The Metropolitan Police has also recently said that it was looking into claims that the prince asked his Met bodyguard to dig up dirt on her for a smear campaign.
